LUCIO ROBERTO RAMÍREZ GONZÁLEZ

THERE ONCE WAS A DAY WITHOUT POETRY

It happened one day in history,

when there was no poetry,

the seas turned blue,

the sun turned yellow,

and the silvery moon

not more give it`s inspiration.

Life ceased their singing,

the forests become paled,

fairy tales, no longer existed,

nor had wicked wolves,

or enchanted lagoons,

not angels in heaven.

That day the insane men,

left our world,

were all so rational,

the divine trail vanished

Christmas without Clauses,

no fantasies, no beings.

Nobody learned that day,

the lessons were hid,

clouds didn`t hide the sadness,

tears could not be drowned,

I searched without finding God,

I could not find any sky and nothing bad.

I wanted to mourn and could not,

I could not suffer for nothing,

my thoughts were so sane,

without pain or joy,

happened one day in history

when there was no poetry.

I wanted to tell my tears,

I wanted to tell my sorrows,

I wanted to say I love you,

but the love was also gone,

happened throughout one day,

no sky, no poetry.

What is the world without fairy,

or blessed waters,

no verses, no creed, no tales,

no sirens in the seas,

no princes and no crazies,

angels and not God?

Fortunately, it was only one day,

when you, who were beloved,

did hide your face behind curtains,

you didn´t want to love me more,

enough reason for that day,

for me ... poetry ceased to exist.
