I'm still here

Diana_Carolina

Will I ever hear you grown, yet childish calling hey sister! hey sister!
To binge the night under covers, masking our giggles and whispers
Will I ever see her smile, as a hug'll be the only to hit her?
If I disappear tomorrow, will I ever hear you say 'I miss her'?

Will I ever, brother? See you grow into your manhood
To see you do what a man could, a man would, a man should
To tell the ladies I know you, and his heart is damn good
Make me proud, bless my eyes, with the view where Dad never stood.

Will I ever pierce through that world, big and bubbled
To stand eye to eye, without earthquakes, without struggles
Will the rope around my neck will finally be unbuckled?
And will the thick blood winning water will pull us, no matter what we've suffered?

It's not an exaggeration to pronounce that each year ends in fear
That each will leave the nest, God knows when we'll once again appear
Leaving scars open and unclear, with makeup runny to smear
And tissues displayed on the table, for every pair of every tear.

Years may pass, with no one to come near
To hug this frozen-in-place arms, to bless with words my ears
May it be tears of home-sickness or reconcile smiling with a beer
I'll be always a sister, a daughter, a friend; I'm still here, always here.
